The magazine pouch design ensures that the magazine is securely located in the pouch.  With a  low profile design and large side cuts,  more of the magazine is exposed.  Consequently, this provides the user with an immediate positive grip when reaching for a  magazine. Essential in a sweaty high voltage situation.  As a result of the side cuts a stronger and quicker grip is  possible.
