Glock 35 Gen 4

The Glock G34 Gen 4  features several changes from the earlier versions. These include improved grip texture, two backstraps (medium & large) which can be installed on the backstrap to “customize” the feel of the frame in the shooters hand, and a larger, reversible magazine release.  The other major change involves the recoil spring assembly designed to change the perceived recoil of the pistol (resulting in less muzzle rise) as well as having a much longer service life. Less muzzle rise results in faster follow-up shots during competition or in self-defense situations.

Description

Glock 35 Gen 4

Glock 35 Gen 4 is the successor of the G 35 ntroduced in 1998 as a competition ready,  40 smith pistol. Designed to be the same overall length as the Government Model 1911 pistol the main differences between the full size Glock 17 and the long slide G 35 include a 5.32″ barrel for the 34 (0.82″ longer than the 17) with corresponding longer slide, extended magazine and slide releases and a reduced trigger pull.  Naturally the longer slide results in a longer sight radius and a slightly better balance of the pistol, resulting in quicker recovery between shots. These are also attributes that are desirable for tactical use as well and Glock refers to this model as the “Tactical/ Practical.”

Like all 4th Generation Glock’s, the G35 has the  modular back strap design that lets you instantly customize its grip to adapt to an individual shooter’s hand size. The surface of the frame employs the new rough textured technology. Internally, the new Glock dual recoil spring assembly substantially increases the life of the system. A reversible enlarged magazine catch, changeable in seconds, accommodates left or right-handed shooters.

The G35 Gen4 is also available in MOS configuration.

This more aggressive, non-slip surface provides a more secure grip and better traction. For quite a while, some Glock owners had been getting custom texturing on their pistols to get what is now standard on Gen4 models

Glock 35 Gen 4 Replaceable Backstraps

The Gen4 has two insert options, medium and large or you can leave the pistol as is, in small or what Glock refer to as  short frame configuration.

Glock 35 Gen 4 Magazine Release Catch

The enlarged mag release catch is now easily reversible to either the left or right side.

Glock 35 Gen 4 Magazine

The Gen4 Magazine now features a pair of notches that will allow positive operation with all types of existing mag catches.

Glock 35 Gen 4 Recoil Spring

The Glock G35 Gen 4 has a dual recoil-spring system that features a progressive spring rate reducing felt perceived recoil.
