Glock Dummy Rounds are bright orange and come in a pack of 50. These dummies (AKA snap caps) are available in three calibers. 9mmP/40S&W and 45ACP. {9mm 10 packs in stock November 2023 / 50 packs due late Feb 2024)
The Glock Shop also supplies these original Glock dummy rounds in small packs of 10. (9mmP and 40 S&W only) You will find them in the dropdown. One should never underemphasise the importance of using this aid in firearms training. Finally, a point of interest from my experience. I find the metal/aluminum rounds from 3rd party suppliers tend to seize or jam in the Glock Gen 5 chambers.
Ball and Glock Dummy Round Drills
One of the most popular range drills is the “ball and dummy” drill. The procedure is that a third party loads your magazine with mostly live rounds and one dummy round. The expectation is that, when the dummy is chambered, you’ll press the trigger and flinch to manage recoil that didn’t happen. But is this teaching aid flawed?
